significantly poorer. Mexico, the country imports things that allow for our cheap Walmart lifestyle. If we could not trade wiht them, our prices, everything from dry goods to gasoline would go up, making us whine even more about everthing we have to pay. Immigrants keep costs down, by doing the jobs that (honestly) I dont want to do...the jobs that dont pay enough and leave you physically tired. I know that i can get more pay at an easier job...but sadly that is not the case for most illegal immigrants.

The legal immigrant contributes alot whereas the illegal does not.

We wouldn't be poorer, we would be more wealthy. Those companies that currently employ illegals would either find someone that was legal, or automate the job so that a human wouldn't be responsible anymore.

Illegals wouldn't put hospitals out of business anymore. They wouldn't suck the funding out of welfare programs anymore. We wouldn't have to pay as high of a tax rate because of illegals in our public school system. It would be a total win-win situation. Send the illegals home now.

The United States is NOT a poor nation. It is a nation of plenty and offers so much to its citizens. Legal Mexican immigrants are just new Americans and have no other distinction.

All the immigrants to America have made this nation great. The early settlers made this nation, the people that fought in our quest for freedom from England made this nation free. And people of ALL races and country of origin have fought and died in the wars to keep America free.
We Americans ,all of us. have made and kept the USA the greatest country in the world. That's why millions upon millions want to come here legally .

Don´t you mean how much poorer would huge, greedy, monopolistic US corporations be without the contribution of Mexican immigrants? They´re the only ones profiting from them. The average Joe would be richer without them, because wages would be increased and taxes would go down if we didn´t have to pay for illegals on welfare.

I think the better question would be: "How much better off would the US be without illegal immigrants?"

I don't question the great things LEGAL immigrants have done, and I am all for it. However, illegal immigrants are a strain on our government and economy.

Simple economics, if they were deported there would be more jobs for Americans, because companies would have to pay a higher wage. Money would stay in America. Less strain on our social programs such as medicare, welfare, etc. Medical insurance would drop, car insurance would drop, less disease such as TB, lower crime, higher property values. Should I continue, or is that enough?

The U.S. is a rich nation. All the illegals are bringing our country down. They come here get on all the social services, free medical, free dental, subsidized housing, and make babies like little rabbits. They get everything for free including birth control, unfortunately they don't use it. The men sit around in their yards playing loud obnoxious music and drink beers and destroy neighborhoods& leave their trash for the neighbors to pick up. Most beat their wives, and have no respect for women in general. If you don't believe me take a drive in South Phoenix. I live near Phoenix and this whole area is turning into a little Mexico fast! It is sad and pathetic. My neighbors 4 year old daughter does not speak english. But my taxes will go for her to learn some english, because the school district will have to pay more to hire a bilingual teacher to teach her. How wonderful! NOT!

Poorer? NOT A CHANCE!

We would be so much better off. We wouldn't have to support 20 to 30 million Illegal aliens with our taxes. Our schools and health care would be better. Fewer ID theft! Fewer jobs stolen. The added cost to food would be minuscule! The "$5 head of lettuce" is a myth to scare people.

CA would SAVE $10 BILLION per year!

Legal Immigrants Contribute...Illegals take away and steal! If "Illegal Immigration" is not curtailed quickly, we will become a 3rd World nation, just like theirs.. We need to spend our money on American interests not Mexico's!!!

If in case you have not noticed most of our jobs are being outsourced. California hospitals are closing because of the over burdened health care systems due to Illegal Immigration! We are seeing diseases in the United States that had been eradicated, long ago. They are pushing ahead of the line unfairly. What about those that do it legally and those in need of political asylum?

The cost of removing and prosecuting illegals far outweighs the gain in GNP due to proper immigration from Mexico.

Check out the immigration policy for into Mexico and tell me that doesn't sound hypocritical.

If you limit that to illegal immigrants, we'd have been better off without them, taken altogether as a class. Legal immigrants, on the other hand have made valuable contributions.
