An example of necrosis would be a stroke or heart attack, where nerve injury is not 'programmed' but is due to lack of adequate blood supply.

Apoptosis derives from Greek for describing leaves falling from a tree; it's planned, 'programmed' cell death that is part of the life cycle. A very common, real-life example is menstruation -- a patterned, regulated growth and death of the female reproductive tract tightly regulated by hormones.

well necrosis can come in all forms, what comes to my mind is tissue necrosis, that means dead tissue, like when you get a wound that doesnt heal bc it has no circulation to it, we see this alot with people who have diabetes, there are also severe forms like where your body stops producing the tissue, or not all the tissue is produced to begin off with, apoptosis is where the cell dies itself, from necrosis in the nuclei of the cell.
