If it happened to me, I would have gone to the doctor, of course. Just wondering what people would say about this question asked to me from someone else.

The man who asked me this question pointed to his back in the area behind the solar plexus, only up a bit, and to the left.

So I don't think it's the kidneys, nor stomachache.

Good answers so far, many thanks.

As you don't seem to have a clue about human anatomy, I suggest a visit to the doctor.

The only way chocolate/sugary foods can give you back ache is by adding weight to your body or giving you diabetis. If you are not overweight then visit the doctor and find out what is the matter. If you are overweight, losing weight will ease the pain. Either way a visit to the doctor will ease your mind.

You might not think it's the kidneys, but if it is a lot of sugar, and caffeine, as in chocolate, it likely is. Go see a doctor. A simple urine test can check for diabetes.

If your kidneys fail, you are screwed. Go to the doctor.

It might be a referred pain from gall stones; they commonly play up when eating high fat high protein food. Chocolate is very high in fats and can trigger an attack of pain from gall stones. The pain is most commonly felt under the rib cage, on the right hand side, and can also be felt very strongly at the back, under the shoulder blade.

kidneys affected by the caffeine. Stay away from coffee, chocolate, sodas, anything that has coffeine in it. I suffer from it too. The pain can be excruciating/

It could be the caffeine from the chocolate! My husband can not have anything with caffeine in it, because he gets back pain from it! His regular doctor didn't believe it! But, when he went to see the urologist, he said, "The back pain's probably from the caffeine"!!
