In response to the first poster ROMER, who is outrageousely uninformed
"How does George support the troops?"
-By constantly trying to get more money and support for the troops, and battles the dems trying to cut funding.
"Does he send them into battle without armor?"
-We do have armor, any shortages are directly a result of dems not authorizing more money
"Does he make them drive unarmored vehicles?"
-Most vehicles are armoured, there are some vehicles which do not need armor.
"Does he put them into no-win situations?"
-You see it as unwinnable because you have faulty intelligence, he believes failure is not an option.
"Does he ask them to give their lives for a war based on lies?"
- NO he has a voluntary military who believes in his cause just like he does, him lying to get intoa war would be of no benifit to him, he did not lie.
"Does he provide then with great support and medical care when they come home injured?"
-The walter reid tragedy was not under his supervision, as commander in chief he does not have time to go to each VA hospital. The person who was responsible for it was fired.
"Does he cut the funding for the VA system?"
-No
"Does he reduce their pay?"
-Not even a little
"Has he ever attended one funeral?"
-Yes, several, including that one boy who jumped on a grenade and saved 3 other soldiers.
"The Bushies claim to support the troops, but they have only one way of showing it: those important yellow magnets."
- No, as the poster stated we are donating and providing programs such as Soliers Angels where you adopt a soldier. What do liberals do besides try to cut funding and protest the troops and call them murderers?
"P.S. No one has spit in a soldier's face. Post a link."
- You spit in their face by making statements like these.

Too many ways to mention... I'm an army spouse, active in volunteering for the military community (over 100 hours a month), work for a military connected non-profit, collect donations of clothing and toiletries for the soldiers at Walter Reed, send two care packages a month to my family members and friends who are currently deployed, respect the flag, sing the National Anthem aloud, give up my personal freedom (such as when to have a baby, have a career) to invest my time and efforts in making my husband able to keep his mind on his mission, have been an FRG leader twice (during deployments), have collected thousands of dollars worth of donations from major corporations to send to my husband's unit, consoled young widows (more times than anyone should have), babysit for said war widows when they need to cut through red tape, have a home anywhere I live in the U.S. for those widows that I know (and a few have taken us up on it for varying periods of time), etc. Most importantly, I do all these things with passion and because I WANT to. I believe in this country and I believe in the men and women of the armed forces. They chose a job few of us have the guts to do (including myself).
I think the only thing I don't do is have a yellow ribbon magnet on my car or one of those stupid bumper stickers that says, "Army wife... toughest job in the army," (Because that's crap. Being a wife is easy... being a soldier is hard.)
By the way, I'm a democrat. (Not a liberal though... there IS a difference.)
******************
Also, for another poster... combat pay WAS cut a few years ago (Congress, not the president, to be fair. Republican majority congress, btw.. the same ones who did not authorize enough spending for armor, contrary to what another poster stated). I know this for sure because it was cut right before my husband initially left for Iraq and was put back up to it's previous level 18 months later (when he came home. LOL, how's that for timing?)
Also, George W. Bush has NOT attended a single funeral. That Marine who threw himself on the grenade was from my hometown. The President did NOT make an appearance at that funeral.
Not making a political statement with those statements, just clarifiying.

To Romare: nothing but useless Liberal rhetoric that you regurgitate from the media.
To robert m: Ask a soldier you say? Reporters from left-leaning MSNBC asked serveral troops currently serving in Iraq what they though of people back home saying they support the troops but not the war. Those soldiers said if you support the troops then you should support what they're doing. If you don't then go on with your lives and let them do their job. They said if you say America is failing in Iraq, then you're saying they're not doing their job and that's not much support.
To exeter127: people who make comments like you did disgust me. You say the soldiers are being pointlessly maimed & killed. Go face to face with their loved ones back home and tell them their dad/mom/husband/wife died for no reason.

How do I support the troops?
Well, other than the standard magnets, thanking veterans and currently enlisted soldiers every time I see them, and standing up for what I believe in, I'm joining the United States Marine Corps in the near future.

I was spit on, called a baby killer etc. One fool punk actually tried to take the insignia off of my uniform at San Diego.
I hope at some point they glued his wrist back together.
I dont think that most of us think about it....Whether a jarhead, doggie, zoomie squid or whatever....The important part is holding your head up doing your duty!
by the way a marine does not like to be called a soldier. Jarhead, Leatherneck, Devil Dog, idiot etc are all OK

Soldiers Angels is an excellent group. I just met them over the St. Pat Day weekend when our group was invited to ride in the parade with them. Check out the website how you can show your support to our men and women in the service.

I send money as often as I can, and every time I greet a US soldier I proudly shake his/her hand and thank them for their bravery in protecting our freedoms, and I usually add that I'm doing everything possible in order to get our despicable demented dirty low down scumbag Dumpacrap and Rejectacan pollutaticians to remove the handcuffs from our soldiers and let em win our battles as they're trained to do so...

I support the troops by doing my job. It may not be much on a larger scale, but it helps keep the country going. I support the troops by making sure the home they left, is the same when they return. I support the troops by making sure that home is still here when they get back.
