Like someone else said, OPSEC (operational security).
For the safety of the Marines in the unit, anyone who knows that information should not share it online. There have been verified cases of people posting information online, and it being used by the insurgents to target and kill American military personnel.
If you know someone in the unit and are trying to find out about them, you'll have to ask around their family and friends. It's not a good idea to post details like that online.

You may get the information at www.military.com. They may be able to give you some information but with the nature of the unit don't be surprised if you don't get much help for security reason.
