Yes. Although I would not term Atheist a "religious" group, I would agree that it is a belief system.
I want to defend my belief system against attacks by theists and I want to lead the "lost" to the truth.
Still, I am not concerned with those who have a personal belief in a god, I am concerned with those who have a specific belief in a god and want people and countries to act on their belief. If you christians want to pray in a closet like Jesus told you to, go ahead.

Two differences:
1 - Many atheists, myself included, believe that truth is not relative, but rather absolute, so the fact that two people believe different things does not put them in the same situation: one may be right and the other wrong.
2- Atheists are in the position of having their beliefs sanctioned by society and culture at large: believers (at least those in the majority in their culture, such as Christians in the US) are not. Our efforts to promote our beliefs are not efforts to repress other beliefs, but rather to ensure that we're not oppressed for our beliefs. Obviously Christians in the US cannot honesty make that same claim (though of course the religious right is all about that claim anyway).
Regardless, atheists do not make up a "religious group": we're neither religious (obviously), nor a "group" in any meaningful way.

"Furthermore, how can you prove, what doesnt exist, according to you?"
Pop the cork, everyone.

We just want to help the people that aren't sure about Christianity. Some people are more concerned with knowledge, but were raised on the Bible and don't know that there's anything else. I have a great amount of pity for the people that stick with Christianity just to fit in.
There's also the maturity thing. When some people decide that they are agnostic or athiest or whatever, they feel the need to tell everyone, and want to find people that agree with them. Just like when people "find God" or whatever.

I'd say "thank you for your concern" if it was TRULY altruistic, but from the wording used, you're just being condescending and arrogant, so I'm afraid that it'll burst your bubble hard but I do have to mention that I'm further from "lost" as a Buddhist than I ever was studying any Christian or other monotheistic religion.
I don't preach, I merely answer the questions... if you ask me a question about something, then I answer it, if you get attitude that spews hate or incites hate I'll stand up to you. If you can't handle the answers then maybe you would benefit from trying to find your own answers that will teach you to cultivate a mind that is more calm and less likely to be rude.

I don't preach at anyone. If someone asks, I'll show them how illogical the Bible is, but I don't just come with it out of no where. I wouldn't like it if they preached at me, so I don't preach at them.
edit: Saying that your belief in God is as tangibly proven as you facts proves you've never taken a science class in your life. How old are you? 5?

What do you mean by non-believers? non-christians, or atheists?
Of course atheism is not a religion; only an american christian would think so.
And we wouldn't mind so much if religion wasn't so harmful to believers and others.
Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.

I will not consider any group, but personally, sometimes I am trying to lead the lost. People need to be saved from religion and ignorance and lack of proper education.
Yes, I realize this can be a bit hypocritical.

I believe in God just not the God of the christians, does that make sense to you?
Ive seen the way christians act towards non christians, Thomas Paine said a cruel man believes in a cruel God, and he was very accurate in his statements reguarding christianity and the christian god.

Why do you feel the need to tell the world that god is real? I'm not siding on this, just wondering what the point of this post is other than to take a stab at "non-believers", which isn't very Christian of you is it?

I don't believe in proselytizing. Religion is a very personal thing. If you believe in your God then good for you. Its not my place to tell you otherwise. Every religion I have seen (the real ones anyway) is beautiful in it's own way.
