BPFO - British Forces in Afghanistan - Op Herrick?

My boyfriend is away in Afghanistan in Op Herrick 6 - i have his address to post to - but do i have to go to the post office everytime i write to him? As i know blueys are not free to send there now. Can i just use britosh postage paid airmail envelopes?
