How serious was Tony Blair about the release of the captured soldiers and was it a threat?

If Maggie was still in charge, the SAS would have got them out already. Tony however thinks the idea of negotiation and reconcilliation has merit, and there is no point upsetting the Iranians. But he is going to send them a very stern letter. Gutless.

It should have been a threat - they are our lads and lasses and we need to go in and get them out. Im sure the SAS are ready to go and may even be in Iran already.

This is a mark of war by Iran - i think with the lack of success in Iraq and Afghan - Maybe Iran fancy their chances against us.

But i think the PM is serious about it - and so he should be!
