That depends.

My favorite healthy cereal is this combo: bran flakes or Total with a few Cheerios or Honey Nut Cheerios sprinkled on top. Recently I discovered Wal-Mart's Great Value brand of Enriched Bran Flakes and I love those more than Total or regular bran flakes. The Cheerios, though, are not always as good in a generic brand. One kind I tried got too soggy too fast. The Dollar General kind does well in a pinch, though.

When I get a sweet tooth, I have a number of favorites: Cocoa Puffs, Peanut Butter Crunch, Kix, Frosted Mini Wheats (bite size), Lucky Charms, Apple Jacks, Fruit Loops, Trix, Count Chocula, and Golden Grahams. None of the store brands of these are as good to me.

All the above are ones I eat with milk. My favorite dry cereal is Grape Nuts O's-- I make my own trail mix with them: the O's, Cheerios, another cereal (my favorite third addition so far has been Golden Grahams), Peanut M & M's, yogurt covered raisins, and sometimes other seeds or nuts (I intend to one day add in pistashios, cashews, and sunflower seeds, plus pieces of high-quality dark chocolate).

My all-time favorite was Crispy Critters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crispy_Critters) but it was discontinued and I continue to be sad over it. The closest to it on the market is Kix, but that's not nearly as fun!

My little dream is to have my own kitchen with a shelf that always has all my favorite cereals on it.

Many generic brands are packaged in the same facility as the brand names, and really are not that different. If a generic brand tastes good, and is cheaper (surprisingly it's not always cheaper), then I will opt for it.

Best cereal of all time? I'd have to go with the classic Cheerios. Kix are pretty good too, as well as Corn flakes.

The best cereal of all time for me would definitely be Kix! It's so goooooooood with milk and I would totally eat the generic brand though I've never seen any before.

Fave cereal has to be Cracklin' Oat Bran. It's tasty and crunchy and good for ya too!
I've never seen a generic brand of this but I would try it.
My 2nd fave is pretty much any type of granola with almonds & raisins in it. As far as generic...they're all the same, doesn't matter with this cereal! I love the Kroger brand :)

Do you remember Nesquik cereal? omg, it was great! They don't make it anymore. Now I love Strawberry mini wheats. Never had the store brand, if they even have it.

My favorite is Life-the regular flavor but Cinnamon is good, too! (I snack on Cinnamon Life straight out of the box.) I don't think there is a generic version of Life.

I am really enjoying my Honeycomb. Don't know if there's a store brand but if tehre was it would probably only save me a few cents so I'd stick to my combs.
