My father suffers from gout for years now, he got on a very strict diet and avoid all high purines food, he also takes his medicines everyday. He hasn't had the attack for months now but recently it started again. It saddened me seeing him in so much pain.

My Dad also suffers from gout, in his feet mostly so I can sympathize. He has tried meds, specific food regimens and even some type of drink that you mix. It's not curable and it really makes me sad too when he has an attack. I hate to say it but nothing has worked for him, the whole drink mixture thing was something that over time was supposed to work but I don't think he took it long enough and I think it was too expensive for him to keep taking with no proven results. Sorry, I know this hasn't been too helpful, but just wanted you to know that I'm in the same situation :)

It depends on what lies beyond that mountain. Every step will lead you beyond that mountain, but then it all must not go in vain. Its not always that the toughest of challenges gives you the best of results. You have to know what lies behind that mountain, and only climb if its worth it. PS: Not always should you climb the mountains; sometimes its good to use the valleys.
