If Jesus Himself was baptized by way of water, why not us? He showed us by example how it was to be done. And then after the day of Penticost, Peter told us what we need to do. Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
PS:Glad I could be the first to post your name in a question LOL!

And Early, ITA with you. This just goes to prove my point that so much is left out. Like I said, it all goes hand and hand.

Chris P. Again ITA. i know plenty of people that have received the Holy Ghost befor they were baptized in water. But this is what I'm saying...You still need to be baptized by way of water cause that is what the bible says...not me. It is still important to be baptized by water even if you receive the Holy ghost first or not.

Water baptism is not necessary to salvation. Holy Spirit baptism is.
For by the Holy Spirit baptism you are born again. Your spirit.
Water baptism is a outward visual picture of what was supposed to happen to you in your spirit.
I was Baptized in the Holy Spirit before I was Baptized in water.
I almost didn't have the water baptism done.
Seeing you used scripture to bring out your point so shall I.
Acts 8:13 And even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip; and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.
Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,
Acts 8:15 who came down and prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:16 For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 8:17 Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
Acts 8:19 saying, "Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
Acts 8:20 But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
Acts 8:21 "You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

the bible teaches us in romans 3:10 romans 5:8 romans 6:23 romans 10 :9-13 that we must confess our sins first and then be baptised . baptism dont send you to heaven only the blood of Jesus Christ than to show that you want to follow Jesus fully you get baptised Jesus never sined so he didnt have to be saved.

I never argued against the importance of water baptism, have I?
I am just saying that is not what Jesus was referring to in John 3. Take a look at my answer to your question to Chasity.
