There are a lot of advantages most were already mentioned but only temporary. Things can get old fast. One really good advantage is it gives you time to take advantage of some things that you have been wanting to do but couldn't because you were being held back. Take this time to do a few things for your self. Think of it as a vacation, if we go away for a bit it can refresh you but if your gone too long it seems like it can be stress full too you start to miss all the things that you love about life.

Oh yes !
I tell you, I am 45 now and I had my best single time between 32 and 40.
Why?
You have made your experiences so you can enjoy life and relationships much better because you now how do deal with situations and you know what do you to get the bet out of everything.
You developed enough self confidence to really enjoy life and by now you earn enough to do nice things, and have to worry less about career.
You are actually, mentally and physically in your peak years, you look your best, are in your best shape and usually in this age you are real coo.
Just wish I could be 35 again !!!

No trying to figure out where to go to dinner.
You control the remote.
The lid is left in the down position.
Don't want to do the dishes? Okay!
Want to go to a movie? Go see what you want.
I say these above without trying to minimalize how being single is sometimes pretty sucky. However, I was divorced at 28 and didn't find my wonder-mate wife 'til I was 31. I hated and enjoyed my time (not a dog either!).

well honestly there are advantages as the other commenters mentioned... however the longer you are single the harder it is to see them as advantages and the more they become just another detail in a sucky life... im not quite thirty five, but have been single for a while and remember when i looked at the things mentioned as advantages... now i have gotten to the point where someone will mention those things and i have a contradiction to each one... the main contradiction being that they are no longer advantages to me because they are not what i really, really want... theyre good sometimes, but in the long run... i still want someone to share my everything with... just am not willing to settle for a scrub... i have to concentrate on the fact that i have alot to offer and its gonna take someone pretty special to deserve what i have to offer... there is nothing wrong with being single at thirty five... just means that someone deserving enough for you hasnt come along yet... but he will... just keep yourself busy and try not to focus on your lonliness... focus on you and making yourself happy... good luck.

Im not in my 30s yet...getting close though. I would imagine the advantage would be that you can do whatever you want and not have to answer to anyone.

Ahh....those were the days? Why did I ever get married? Sometimes its worth it and sometimes.....well thats they way it goes with marriage. But if I suddenly became single again (Im 39) I would NEVER get married again, so does that tell you anything?

You can date all the guys you fancy without feeling guilty about it coz you're single.

You can come and go as you please
you can decorate your home as you wish, take vacations where you want. Grocery shop for what you want to eat and not have to worry that "someone" is going to complain about that food.
