Am I the only 21 year old who has no interest in going out and getting drunk til I can't remember my name? I'm not a fan of pubs or clubs and was wondering if anybody else felt the same? Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.

Hi im exactly like you, Yes I drink in the house every Friday and order a take away etc. But I dont see the point in going out something always happens and then it ruins the night. Or someone starts a fight etc. All people go out for is to sleep around with someone who they have never met before, its not like there trying to find someone to be with. I bet hardly any of them end up at there house at the end of the night.
Disgusting ! Its annoying when you hear people bragging about who did who or who met who. No its not for me.

I feel the same way you do. I'm 22, and here in canada legal age is 19. at 19 I went out a few times a month and had fun but by 20-21 I was so fed up with that scene. I'm easily annoyed by the types of people I have met at bars and I hate crowds. Plus, I get drunk very easily (off of one drink) so if i'm going to drink, I prefer to do it at home with a few close friends so I don't risk being sick or acting idiotic in public. I think it's important for people our age to find hobbies that DON'T include getting drunk every weekend and smoking up. There's SO much more to life than that. And rather than blowing my money on booze I'm saving for a wedding and a new home. Trust me, you're not the only one.

You're definitely not the only one. When I was 21 I didn't like going to bars and get drunk and most of the time I would rather work my but off to finish college and get out into the real world.

I know how you feel because alot of times I felt like I was the only one but as time went on I found out I wasn't the only one. To this day I still cant understand why people want to get so drunk they cant remember what they did the day before. Id be rather embarrassed if I wasn't in control of myself.

i think you just go through different fazes at different stages. I never used 2 like to go out or drink. I'm now 24 and because my new boyfriend does like 2 go out we now go out every other weekend . We don't get really drunk but close 2 it. At first i wasn't used 2 it but i look forward 2 going out for a change now. As you meet new people and do different things you may change and like to go out more but there is nothing wrong with you not going out to pub and clubs its not like there is nothing else to be doing

I'm 22 and I still like going to clubs because I love dancing. And I'll go out for a drink occassionally, but the appeal of going out and getting smashed lost its appeal very quickly. Spending my hard earned money on drinks, coming home smelling like smoke and other bar smells, having drunk men hit on you all night...completely unappealing. I have a few friends who are like that too. One has never had a drink in her life, the other had one or two drinks on her 21st, but rarely drinks anymore. You're not the only one.

no your not i loke going out ding and seeing different things. I would hate to be one of those people who go to the same pub or nightclub every weekend stand at bar not being able to talk cause of the noise, and gettign shoved around. I do like going out to a quiet pub though having a few drinks and catch up with my friends. But you are right theres so much more to life than alcohal

Lots of my friends children around your age - actually do the same. They find enjoyment in many things that life has to offer and are quiet happy. My own son now in his thirties liked to do the going out scene back in his twenties - although not quite to the extent you suggest is happening (I know it is by the way), plus he liked to stay in for months with his friends doing the play station thing along with many hobbies. You just carry on doing as you are and when the time comes (if it does), you do not necessarily have to get pie eyed' to enjoy yourself. I would suggest though that you do not become a hermit, there are lots of things you could do outside the home (interesting things) that do not involve liquer whatsoever.

I'm 23 and never really been into that whole scene. I went to uni and did the whole uni thing such as going out and getting plastered loads. Sometimes, I fancy a night out like that, but it's not the be all and end all for me these days - I prefer to spend what little money I have on my future and doing fun things with my friends and boyfriend - I like to spend time sober with people instead of building relationships on drunkenness.

well, granted, i'm only 20, but i have no interest in getting drunk anymore. i did enough of that my first year of college, and while i did have a lot of fun doing it.. i don't enjoy getting wasted anymore. for my 21st, i'm definately going to go out. for me, maybe it's just kind of a rite of passage, (and especially since my birthday is on new years, it's gonna be exciting).. but i don't want ever again to get as drunk as i've been before. it's just not fun anymore, and i tend to do stupid things once i hit that point.

but no. i don't think you're the only one.
