a plum is a plum and a pluot is a plum + apricot. similar shape, slightly different taste in tartness.

I just started eating plouts to see what they're like (I can't find really sweet plums), and find plouts to be juicy and sweet, not tart at all. Note: cross-breeding two fruits is not modifying - breeding has been done for centuries if not longer. Playing around with the seeds of any growable food is modifying. From an article explaining the difference ...
