My teeth are scarily thin and starting to go kinda see through, they’re very sensitive to cold and hot food too. i've only just started using enamel toothpaste. but I was just wondering if anybody knows of any dental treatments that may strengthen my teeth or rebuild the enamel??

I was also wondering if there’s anybody out there that knows of any NHS dentists that are accepting new patients in Lincolnshire (UK) ?

many thanks!! :)

your teeth could be going thin for a number of reason but the main one is because i the amount of acidic foods you eat and drink. I'm a dental nurse and have this problem myself on my front upper teeth and i was advised to not drink so much coke and fresh orange juice, these are worse for your teeth then you actually realise, also fruit, i know this is hard to believe but oranges are as bad for your teeth as coke and fresh orange. you shouldn't brush your teeth for at least 30 minutes before and after drinking or eating acidic foods,
because the enamel on your teeth goes soft once you have eaten or drank acidic foods/drinks and when you brush them the enamel is so soft that you are actually brushing it away hence the reason your teeth are going so thing.
but don't panic this can be sorted out, without the big bill at the end, there's the crown, veneer that you can have which on the nhs is £189. or you could go for the cheaper one, which is as good as any and you don't have to have you tooth drilled down and that's a composite filling which is added onto your tooth, and looks as good. and this costs £42.40 on the nhs and should be under guarantee for 12 months.
i hope this has helped you out :)

Having sensitive teeth does not mean necessarily that you have receding gums, though it is common. However, if you try using a flouride past, such as gelkam, this helps with sensitivity. Gelkam is usually sold at the dental office but check with your local pharmacies, it may be sold over the counter. Most dentist recommend once or twice a day treatments. You brush it on and do not rinse. Usually works best at night as you go straigt to bed and it can stay on your teeth all night. Like I said, its a flouride paste and flouride helps with sensitivity most of the time. However, if you haven't had a check up in a while, there may be other problems going on such as a cavities, and you may not know it. Good luck. Take care.
