That was very mature of you. I do, however agree about the "black history every month" thing. I personally find it hard to talk to an African America/Nigro American/Nigroid Whatever, without being accused of being racist for something.

Dear Mr. Flaca...I have read your statement. I'm not of the African American Race but yet I do have two beautiful bi-racial children and I have adopted my son who by the way is African American. I try to understand one's issues because everyone has their own opinion BUT when one makes statements to "hurt" others then I have to question their integrity. We have ALL had some type of crisis or issues in our lifetime or our family or family members or even ancestors have had turmoil in their lifetime but here again we live for today and hope we are still alive for tomorrow. Our strength comes from issues or mistakes that have been made in our life and we try to move on to make it better. I understand that your heritage/ancestors and current family members have had probably major problems or issues that has afflicted them seriously here in America but your family hasn't been the only one's...believe me. The African American's has had it just as bad also along with many other people who decided to make America their home. You must understand that our African American's didn't have a choice when they were brought to America. They were brought here for one main reason and it wasn't a very good reason either as far as I'm concerned. The One's who are at fault here took these beautiful people from their own land, homes and family to become slaves across the seas never to return to their homes! You on the other hand had a choice. You aren't a "slave" are you? You had a choice to live in America didn't you? Why do you think that America had a "Civil War"? Brother fighting against Brother! Families fighting against each other. Thousands upon thousands died for a "good cause"! Some of us (regarding to our ancestors) wanted to abolish this slavery because it was "inhuman". And still is! Now I'm not against people from other origins/heritages wanting to make their home in America. That is why our "Forefathers" created this new "Freedom Land" so anyone could live in a Free World. This is why they got out of British Ruling and fought for what they believed in when they wrote the Constitution. I'm sorry that your family has had problems in our country because everyone should have "equal rights and equal opportunities" but unfortunately" it doesn't always happen like it should. Now not every month is "Black History" month. February is the only month out of the whole year that has been created as "Black History" month so we Americans can remember what has happened in the past and also the accomplishments that these beautiful people have done for our country whether they were writers or actors, inventors, prominent families, ministers of faith etc..These beautiful people should be remembered for what they have endured and not only them but others alike. And don't get me wrong but I realize that Hispanics have their pride too right along everyone else but this doesn't mean downgrade others due to your ill feelings.Someday I would imagine that the Hispanics will have a month of their own too. What I'm trying to say is..that we all have our problems and setbacks and issues but we get our strength from going forward and succeeding and the correction of our misfortunes. And having Faith within ourselves and our God who created us all.Have a Great day!

Yeah but hispanics have a history month. There is a women's history month. I think we should get rid of all the history months and just incorporate everyone's history all year round. I don't think it's fair to only hear about Martin Luther King once a year.

Realizing your misdeeds and bringing them to light is the first part of forgiveness... You have stated that God created us equal, has he not? You give to your words, of apologies, and promises. Now.. If only the ones hurt can realize your mistakes, and know to the fact, that we are all brothers and sisters, and that we were created, to live together in harmony, and many have been forgiven for their mistakes and the past.. And many have brought forth their apologies and confessed.. So dear brothers and sisters, can you open your blind eyes and see, that this simple letter, came from his soul?

I think it fair to say that many people's ancestors have gone through a hard time. However, you do realize that comparing anyone's suffering to anyone else's incites anger. Of course, I forgive you. Best to you in all things.

Flaca,
When your friends, family, etc., start making comments about Black people that you believe are not appropriate, you should bring it to their attention.

This is a more effective way to eradicate the mentality that you seek to apologize for.

Suerte hermana!

Apology accepted! I don't know what you said or did, but the fact that should stood up, admitted your wrong and apologized says alot. If people don't accept your apology then it is off your shoulders and on theirs.
