Why are words so powerful, why do they capture the evolutionary spirit?

It's not only the fear in confronting our own emotions and expressing them to someone else, but the vulnerability that will follow. When we express our emotions, good or bad, we are exposed, raw, and transparent. And I can't think of a more difficult, or beautiful thing.

You bring up a very good point about silence, though. As awkward as expressing emotion can be to someone, or having that expressed to you, the state where nothing can be said at all is worse. Not knowing what someone is thinking or feeling is pretty scary.

I think silence is mighty depending on the emotion behind it. Silence can say everything and can say nothing. I like to think of silence as my brain 'shutting up' for a while, but I get what you're saying.

God spoke us into existance with words.
I truly believe we have authority over what we say. I think if you talk positive-positive things will happen. Negative-same thing.
I don't agree silence is mighty if you want to live a full and abundant life.

I'm not sure I would agree. When others encounter silence, they have to interpret it, and most people don't interpret it correctly. Since I don't believe that the bible is Jesus's words, it hurts his legacy that he's silent. It leaves him open to interpretation, and look at how that's been abused. No, I don't agree that silence is the mightiest.
