You dont explain your problem. Is your child not sleeping at least 12 hours/. doe she go to school? he/she is too hyper ? only child?
It all depends what going on in your house. If he is 3 i guess he is a preschooler or is at home with you all day. If he is at home with you all the time which im assuming this, well you have to do activities with your child so you have him all tired by at least 8pm. Stick to a daily routine, wake him up everyday at same time.. if he dont take naps anymore than try to go out with on playdates or play in the outdoors with him if you have a yard. have a bedtime routine as well, by 7 bathe him ,play a lil before time to put him in bed.

My son is someone you cant put into bed, when he is tired and bathe by 8pm ,usually by 9pm he is out,but he goes to preschool 5 hours a day ,so after school we try to keep him busy with painting, game son the computer, playing with his trains and trucks etc... by 7 i try to have him bathe and its time for quiet time by 8pm I usually put a movie and he falls asleep.

Kids this age are normally very active. At this stage, they have a sense of the possibilities open to them and are very curious. Their nerves and muscles are still developing and activity is the way in which they develop their capabilities, physical and mental.

Try to encourage them and guide them. Watch to keep them out of trouble that they can't get out of. It is sometimes exasperrating to be around them at this stage, but kids are not intended to be still. They are not zombies. Unless you notice unusual behavior, or repeated aggressiveness (or similar repeated negative traits) don't be unduly worried; if you do, get help from qualified professionals or service agencies.

Because we are their batteries and when they drain us dry they have to recharge with sleep (just kidding).

At this age they can start identifying things and figuring out how they work and they don't want to stop for anything because there is so much out there to see and touch and hear and taste!
