eat a well balance diet with proper portions, drink lots of water, and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. these sites have helpful information. 5-6 small meals a day help keep your metabolism up so you can burn more calories. you don't have to do all 30 minutes of exercise at once. you can do 10-15 minutes at a time.

Mini meals are good. 6 meals expecially. I'll be honest here. I do not believe that diet alone can do anything. For me it's long strong hard workouts. No pain, no gain. All this crap on tv about do this and that seem's like a load of crap to me to be honest.
I've read that you have arthritus to I'm guessing my approach is totally useless for you. However, my father is kind of old now and his day's of hard workout have gone. His health is really holding up due to Yoga. It's been a year and a half since he's been doing it daily for a few hours (two hours each day).
Try walking into a local hindu temple or something. They usually have classes that are open to everyone for free. These other clubs where you have to pay is a total rip. Buy some dvd's and do it home if you want. A really famious guy in India is - Swami Ram Dev. His books are really detailed yet easy to follow (even a kid can do it) and his dvd's with the voice dubbing is even better.
Good luck.

Just eat less. No matter how little you think you eat, your body will shed excess weight if you simply eat fewer calories than you body needs.
Take the weight off and you'll find the hips and knees feel better. Until then, try cycling. Get a cheap exercise bike at a garage sale. It's lower impact.
Or join a cheap gym. They cost nothing, considering what you get. Go there and use their bikes or elliptical trainers. Or if they have a pool....

Gp to your doctor and ask to be put on phentermine. I was only 40 pounds overweight, but my blood pressure was high, so the doc put me on phentermine which is an appetite suppressant, not a diet pill. You have to exercise with it. I lost 20 lbs in 1 month. I feel alot better. The only thing though is that it will stop working eventually, so give it your all when you first get it. Hope this helps.

Lots of freshly prepared meals, i think that the 6 small meals a day sounds good for you. Eat plenty of fresh fruit or veg instead of choccy bars as a snack!
Perhaps to inspire you, look at some recipes websites, or create a varied menu each week for yourself, so you can really enjoy preparing your meals too.
Do as much exercise as you can, considering your condition.
Remember, home cooked meals don't have to be 'posh' and pricey, they could just be a simple soup/pasta dish.

Just follow the food pyramid and you should be good. Ex: 2 meats, 5 veggies or fruits, 2 grains, 2 dairy. Remeber to watch your portions, ex: 1 mportion of meat is about the size of a deck of playing cards.

Well based on your circumstance, I would say try using some dietary pills. My boss, ,just recently started taking "Cortislim". He says that he hasn't done anything besides take the pills and he has lost 6 pounds in 9days. Now, my boss is lazy, and eats whatever he wants, so, I was so amazed at the product that I told others as well. Maybe you should consult your doctor. But perhaps, this may be able to work for you as well.
