I think the word 'hate' is being used out of proportions. What really is hate? That's a pretty big word we so casually use nowadays for everything we dislike. Someone doesn't like a certain food, so they hate it. Is that the true definition? I don't think I hate anyone. I dislike some people and disagree with others. I do hate the devil and the things he stands for.
Websters defines hate as Intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury. Extreme dislike or antipathy.
I don't qualify.
I want to add this comment. Say someone asks me about Christianity and I simply and kindly explain what it means to be saved. That person may then take it as an offense on them because it's not what they wanted to hear. That's not my doing then, but their perception of it. A christian should never preach to othersbut live an example and be ready to answer when asked.

There is a difference between hatred and being able to spot inappropriate behavior.....come on who walks around with a bag over their head or is this what one wishes of Christians? Out of sight out of mind is an illusion...where do illusions come from? Christians cannot make problems go away by refusing to exist it doesn't work that way. Can anyone honestly claim there is nothing wrong with anything and everything in life and expect peace and success?

Thankfully it is not my call to judge, however, have you ever heard "wolves in sheep's clothing?" Somepeople as you well know profess to be something yet all the while they are not. Assuming all Christians are hypocrits is perhaps jumping the banwagon a bit, but to assume all (self proclaimed) Christians are pure and good is to live in a state of ignorance. What about those filtering the TV with requests for money to feed the poor, yet live in mansions, with servents? What about those who will heal for a price??
Lucky for us though, we dont have to worry about it. They will get their rewards (rather good or bad) eventually, all we can do is be more intelligent about it, and not jump on every banwagon that comes around the ben....
As a Christian, I was taught NOT to hate anyone, I have a gay uncle, I have african american uncles, I am white and not married to a white man, I believe that each person has a free agency to make their own decisions, and I am unworthy to judge them. Now if you said all Christians get mad, or don't like someone, I would say yeah I fall into that category. I can't stand women beaters, murderers, child preditors, do I hate them, No, but would I sit next to them and hold out my hand, NO.

Good Morning Adia....Very Good Question and I have asked myself that same qestion for yrs, besides a couple of others I have my doubts on. The Bible tells us not to hate but to love our enemy as well as not to bare false witness to our neighbor. It also states Honor Thy Father and thy Mother. But yet many Christians or so-called Christians do just the opposite. The question I have asked for many years is "Why does one go to church every sunday and pray to our Father and ask Him to forgive our sins that we have committed, then leave the church, only to recommitt the same sin that they have asked God to forgive them for?" Doesn't make any sense to me! In my opinion, if you are a faithful Christian, then you should follow all the laws that God has laid down. Not just some or a few or even one but ALL. We can dislike someone's behavior and what they do but according to God, we should not Hate. These certain people that call themselves "Christians" but yet not follow God's Laws or Will then to me is not a true Christian. How can one go to church and pray and sing to His Grace but yet go out and have prejudices against other people? You can't...this is not being a true Christian. We are ALL God's children! Not just the white, or african americans, or the Irish or the Asians or the Spanish but ALL! He created All of us in His own image. So, this tells me that God is All colors not just one. God didn't "hate" Adam and Eve for eating the "Forbidden Fruit" he became angered at their behavior so He punished them. And yes, I agree with you, if one is a true Christian then they shouldn't show any actions or behavior towards hating anyone. I realize that God didn't make any of US perfect, and we will always make mistakes regardless but the question is, that we have to ask ourselves is "Are We True Christians? Hope this has helped.Have a Blessed Day!

Whether we are Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists or anything else, we are all human beings. Human beings have the same emotions as everyone else. That includes, love, compassion, happiness, joy, and hate.
Religions teach us to overcome those negative or destructive emotions, In other words, over come the "natural" man. While it is a goal to become perfect, even like our Father in Heaven is perfect, some have a ways to go.

Because some dont believe and religion is just another thing in life to contend about because they are bored or confused or misslead.
Here is a example I believe that my church is the only true church of God and I am a Mormon or LDS member. People on here flip out and affend and battle with scriptures.
the problem is they want to change others minds.
Instead of being christlike and saying HEY maybe thei person disscovered or found truth that I have not let me check it out.
The best response in a Christian fashion would be to check it out and pray about it. If you dont get a answer or are negative and or dissbelieve then keep it to yourself or state your facts without negativity.

Any religion is made of of all different people, with different personalities, It has nothing to do with the religion, it has to do with the personality, and character traits of the individual. Atheists also hate if they have that kind of character. And they don't even have a religion.
Most people that do hate are unhappy, and bitter people. They should be pitied.
Your question is not a valid one. By the way I happen to be Jewish.

Why does anyone hate? You'll find haters in every group, every walk of life, every religious background, every ethnic group and so on. People, in general, will hate because we can't all love one another. Different ideas, looks, creeds, and opinions means that there will always be those who dislike or hate. This is not, in any way, limited to Christians, but to every person on this planet.

As a rule Christian's do not hate, they may disagree with certain things , but they also understand it is not their place to judge. But we are all human, therefor some Christians hate what they don't believe in.

Some Christians hate for the same reasons some Jews hate and some Muslims hate and some of every other group hate...because they are HUMAN.
By and large, though, Christianity is not a religion that breeds hatred, certainly no more than any other religion---and a LOT less than certain religions that demand the killing of those who don't believe the way they do.
