I have to take a drug test this week for a volunteer position, and it has been a long time since i've taken one. I was wondering if I needed to be concerned for the following medicines that I currently take if anyone can help me:

Topomax (really prescribed for depression, but I take it to help with Migranes..100 mg a day)
Tylenol PM to help me sleep (2 a night)
Excedrin if I need it during the day

Thanks!!

If you take meds legally then you have nothing to worry about.

As mentioned before, make sure you let them know the medications you are taking. There are only a few that will actually show up in the drug test. I don't think that Topomax was one of them, I take it too. Always best to be upfront about it. Also, if you are taking any natural products such as St. John's Wort, etc. let them know about these also. They could also show up in the drug test.

when you go for a drug test they ask what medications you take. This is so they know if a prescription with throw the test off or not and if they need a different type of test.

as far as your list go you should be fine. just remember to drink plenty of water.

First be up front and honest with your situation. Bring the prescription from the doctor just in case. They are looking for people who abuse drugs. If you haven't taken any...you should do just dine. As far as the over the counter stuff...don't worry about that...just let them know ahead of time.

Everytime I have had one done, I had to list all the medications I take, whether it be over the counter tylenol or perscriptions. you will be fine.
