I downloaded an upgrade from Microsoft for internet explorer 7 and my computer hasn't worked right since. I have deleted what I downloaded but it still isn't working right. Now when I try to download IE 7 from yahoo it just sits there and does nothing else except freezes up my computer.

I have heard a lot of complaints about IE 7, although I haven't had any trouble with it, once I got rid of a lot of the Windows Live junk.

I would recommend doing a System Restore (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System > System Restore) to a point before you downloaded/installed IE 7 if at all possible.

Sometimes MS downloads get stuck in the download or install process and mess up your system. I had this happen with a MS Windows Update once, and my computer didn't work right until I re-updated everything.

Other options include uninstalling IE 6 and 7 and reinstalling IE 6, etc.

Don't download it from Yahoo. Download it directly from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/ie

Once you have it downloaded and BEFORE you run it, close all programs including everything running in your system tray (lower right by your clock) by right-clicking on it and go to close/exit. This includes anti-virus programs, messengers, etc.

Then you should be able to install IE7 without a problem.

However, if you're looking to reinstall Internet Explorer 7, you're going to have to uninstall it first via the Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel. Restart afterwards.

During the installation, you want to MAKE SURE that you allow it to download any updates available for itself. It will do that automatically.

If you follow this procedure, you should have no problem getting it installed and it should function properly.
