What I want to get is a small Libra sign on the undersided of my left wrist and the other wrist I want the characters for the my chinese zodiac sign the rabbit.

For future employment, my watch could cover one up and if it was unacceptabe couldn't I just put a little makeup to cover it if it become a prob at work.

I'm been thinking about getting for a whiel now about 5 months. Any idea how much it would cost?

Not a bad idea, just a rather painful spot for a tattoo, friend.

The bones underlying the skin are very close to the surface, which means so are the nerves between the surface and the bone. You will most definitely feel it when they perform the work.

As for cost, many shops now have what could be called a bench charge......a minimum charge to cover the cost of the "setup" (needle, carriage, so on), and that ranges from $25 to $40, depending on the shop. If you are going to do this, I would definitely suggest getting both done at one time, to save on an additional charge of that nature.

The actual cost of the tattoo would probably run you about $20 to $35, again, depending on the shop.

Well first off it's your body and your chose to do with it what you want. I also am thinking of getting another tattoo on my wrist, something like a rose chain. However I have heard that they hurt really bad because it is a very sensative area, like getting a armband. The idea that yours can be covered up is a good idea. If you've been thinking about it it must be mean you really want it. So I say do it! As far as cost that would depend on your artist you go to, I kind of remember hearing though that the wrist tends to be a little pricey. Good luck and you actually gave me an idea for a tattoo, I also am the year of the rabbit! The luckiest sign in the chinese zodiac!!

Hey, I'm just like you i want to get a wrist tattoo. For a year i've really wanted a wrist tattoo but didn't want to have it done incase in the future it became a problem with employment. I had a friend that got fired for having a tattoo on her stomach. I 95% have my wrist tattoo design and now i can't wait to get it done.

The things that made me decide it wouldn't be a problem with employment were....

1) I was around someone for months and i didn't even notice they had a wrist tattoo. I brought up in convo that i was planning on getting a wrist tattoo and she then showed me her's. She didn't wear long sleeves, she never had it covered but yet i never noticed it. How often do you really turn your inner wrist so people can see it? It's not as noticeable as you think as long as the tattoo is small.

2) For times when im feeling paranoid (Like Job interviews) i'm planning on getting a cuff wrist watch that can cover my whole tattoo when needed.

3) They can be covered with make up if needed.

I'm not longer worried about getting a tattoo because i know many people won't notice it unless i show them, and i can cover the wrist tattoo whenever i want. I think the wrist is a really easy place to cover up.

I just had a shamrock tatooed on my wrist last week. It is far and away not the most painful tat i have gotten but not the easiest either. As for work, i agree with the other poster that most employers are much more open to tatoos than in the past, it no longer is seen as trashy but a form of self expression.
Cost wise i can tell you mine cost me 60 bucks and that was the shop minimum.
Just as a side note the wrist was prolly one of the more painful places i have had to heal a tatoo (i have 7 others) it gets banged on everything.

I really don't think it's a bad idea. I have been under the impression that more work places are more accepting of body modifications now-since so many quality people have them.
And yeah, I don't see a pro'lem with covering them up, either.

Cost can vary from studio to studio. And you don't always want to opt for the least expensive. You want quality work. Check around your local tattoo studios, look at portfolios, speak to the artists, and maybe even their clients, and from there-make an appointment with the artist of your choosing. So, by this time next month, you should have a couple new body mods!:D

I had a wrist tattoo done last week. It was my first ever tattoo and like you I thought that if I ever get a job that does not allow them I will just cover it up with a watch.

I did hurt, but not so bad. Certainly not enough to make me cry. The whole thing took less than 5 minutes. I am thrilled with it and am now planning my next tattoo. I paid £20 for a small name tattoo.

I say it is everyones chioce to get one where you want to, but in the work force especially a professional woman or man if it were me i wouldn't just becasue some employers look at how you would represent their company and even thought that shouldn't matter it does which is sad but still it matters. my bro in law has them all up and down his arms and it has cost him a few jobs. Ultimeatly you are the only one who can make the choice and make sure that 20 yrs from now you will still like it and not have to defend it to anyone including yourself.

I would think that it would really hurt to get a tattoo there, but if thats where you want it, go for it. Its not very obvious and could be covered easily. The place that I used to work had a rule that absolutley no tattoos were allowed if you could see them. But like you said, they could be covered easily so i wouldnt worry too much about that.
