Did you like the results and would you do it again? Do you go under the dryer?

Usually only people with short hair get highlights with a cap. You wear a cap, the stylist uses a tool to poke holes through the cap and pick out strands of hair. Once the desired amount of hair is pulled, the color or bleach is applied. Whether or not you go under the dryer depends on what type of product is being used and how dark your hair is. Keep in mind that sometimes if the stylist isn't careful, you can end up with little hot spots on your scalp if the color gets too runny and seeps down into the holes of the cap. If your hair is dark and you're bleaching it, you may go under the dryer just to speed things up. You will usually get better results with a foil highlight. The stylist has more control over where to place the lightened pieces, and it results in a more natural look.

Cap highlighting is kind of a thing of the past. Unless your a guy but even then it is not used as often as it used to be. A cap that looks like swim cap with wings and has X's on it will be put on your head first. Then a crochet hook is used to pull out the desired amount of hair that will be bleached. If you have long hair this can be a little painful. Then you will generally be placed under the dryer. Foil highlighting is the more preferred method.

Cap highlights are old school. Plus it hurts when they pull your hair through the cap.
They put a plastic cap on your head and pull wisps of hair through it. It takes a while to do this. You should consider getting a foil done. It is less painful and I like what my hair looks like better with a foil. Either process you choose still gets put under a dryer. I don't think I will ever go back to a cap highlighting!! I think you will be very please if you end up getting a foil done.

It gives a very '80's look. Depending on how old you are, that can be a good or bad thing.

They pull your hair through a cap with this thing that is like a crochet hook, put the goop on, and you sit for a while, they rinse it, and pull off the cap. I think it takes about an hour, more or less.

It is when they put a plastic cap on your head and pull thin wisps of hair thru it. It takes awhile and can sometimes be a bit painful (make sure you brush your hair really well right before.) The longest part is when they pull the hair thru. I love the results. I do mine about once every six months to cover up the regrowth.

All I remember is that it hurt...but I have curly hair so foil highlighting is better...
