Mark is short and concise and easy to follow. The Gospel of Mark is concerned with the identity of Jesus.

There is something difficult in each of Paul's letters but I will suggest Romans. Though by far the longest of his letters, this was the book I first read. Romans has an awesome message of grace and salvation.

And finally of the rest of the letters I would suggest 1 John. Easy to read, and easy to follow and some great simply yet deep life lessons.

If you ever have any questions while you are reading feel free to EMAIL me. Or any other questions.

Luke is a good book, it is clear and has better details than some of the others.

Rule #1 READ the Bible, don't study it yet. The first time or two through read it like it is an everyday book. Once you are familiar with it then you can start to study different aspects of it. So many people spout out a verse and don't know what it truly is about. Example: John 3:16, I bet they don't know John 3:15 or John 3:17, which are just as important.

Read Song of Songs in the Old Testament, it will blow your mind. You will look at the cover of your Bible to make sure you are reading the right book. It reads almost like soft porn. You don't hear many people preach or talk about it...

I was told to start in Acts when I was starting. I have read a lot of the New Testament and I like the book of James the best. Also I like to read the red words which are the words of Jesus.

How about starting with the book of Ecclesiastes? Go there and open to Ecclesiastes 8:15 and learn the purpose of life! Then you'll be ready for the New Testament.

I think the gospel of John is a great place to start. It's simple, it's interesting, it's a great introduction to the life of Jesus by one of the men closest to him. And if you can, read it from an easy-to-read translation like the NIV or the Message. Hope that helps.

forget the new testament my friend, I gave up on the bible when I read the BOOK OF THE DEAD.
I found all the same stories I'd read in the bible, written in Hyroglyphics, many thousands of years before, only the names had been changed when appearing in the Bible. and the stories from the Book of the dead are still etched on the Temple walls.

Try reading the Book of the dead, and I promise you you will read the truth about Jesus, so much so, that it will make steam come from your ears.
Good luck and bless you
