High ferritin levels can be associated with diabetes mellitus and hemochromatosis which is a hereditary disease.

For diabetes mellitus, the patient runs a high risk of suffering from inflamed wounds (gangrene etc)

For hemochromatosis, possible complications include cirrhosis (liver 'degeneration') and many more but not quite inflammatory in nature.

There is quite a number of diseases assoc with high blood ferritin levels. My answer is not exhaustive =)
