Right. We have no idea what people here are really like do we? Whether they are really 'good' people. Whether they are having a bad day, or are just plain nasty?
So wouldn't it be better to just believe that people are actually nice, however they appear from their Q & As? And to respond to them accordingly?
If they are not nice, then maybe by being nice we will help them. And if they are nice, maybe an extra boost of 'niceness' will encourage them to 'pay it forward'?
But if you're nasty, the reverse is likely. And you are likely to become bitter yourself.
So the best bet is to be nice isn't it? Because there's everything to lose from being nasty.
I think I'll call it 'Pangel's Wager'. What do you think?
And yes, if atheists (or anyone else) wants to incorporate it into a drinking game, go ahead.

For explanation, Pangel was a regular here on Y!A R&S who was always polite and considerate to people.
And atheists heard so much of something called 'Pascal's Wager' from believers they jokingly decided to have a drink every time the argument was raised.
