Alright! What did you do now?

EDIT:
You can have a good relationship with a very good friend.....and mess it all up with deceit.
I find it very difficult to give an accurate answer...not knowing the circumstances.

You really can't do much except get a new best friend.

It is a shame but, it is not possible to prove you are trustworthy to someone that already feels this way. The guilty scream I am innocent the loudest.

I would not defend myself. I would tell my friend this;

I am offended by what your mistrust has done to our friendship and it slanders my reputation. I am not going to make an attempt to defend myself because if you don't already know me better than this, it is because you never tried and probably you never will.

i think the best thing is for you to sit her down and ask her whether you've offended her or not. May be one way or the other you have unconsciously done something against her. if she is your best friend then i think the two of you need to trust each other but if she does not trust u then thats bad of her.

but at least she should be able to tell you why she does not trust you.
Search within yourself if you've not offended her. if she proves difficult then i think to restore peace a third party should be brought in the issue to help solve it.

Have you done something to make this person not trust you? If you have, talk to them about it and explain that they mean a lot to you.
If not, also talk to the person and tell them that they're your best friend and that their trust means a lot to you! Tell them that you need them in your life. If the person still doesn't trust you, they're a jerk and you should find a new best friend. Sorry, but it's true.
I hope that helps!

if her mistrust is misguided. then there is something in her life causing it. and you will have to solve that before you can convince her to trust you.

If you lost her trust for some reason then you need to just work at building her trust in you.

but always be trust worthy she will someday realize it.
