Don't drink.?
Alcohol is a depressant, it provides euphoria when you first drink. But it suppresses the neurotransmitters seratonin and norepinephrine, both key neurotransmitters in the "feeling/mood" systems in the brain.
You may want to do a couple of things beyond not drinking.
Eat foods high in L-Trytophan. and also if your drinking is becoming a problem and youi can't stop, go to alcoholic's anonymous. Believe it our not a support system eleviates depression about as quickly as anything.
Exercise and healthy diet are important factors in eleviating depression a minimum of 1/2 hour per day of exercise and a balance diet goes a long way to recovering moods.
If after you stop drinking and still experience depression after about 6 months to a year of not drinking consider seeing a psychiatrist and get on an antidepressant for a period of time as you may need help chemically in rebuilding those neurotransmitters with medications designed to block the metabolism of them.
If your depression is situation "talk therapy" is also useful, so long as you use it to find tools that can keep the depression at bay.
Basically, don't drink 1st.

Go get counseling and treatment. Alcoholics Anonymous, your doctor, a therapist or psychologist, or, if they're qualified, a priest or minister.
The fact that you're asking here says that you know that you need help, and that you can't do it alone. You need to take the next step and ask someone who can do something for you.
Do it now.

Try mild exercise and a balanced diet. Try to cut out added sugar if you can.
You could also try a daily multi-vitamin.
Fish oil ( in pill form by itself ) is good for depression.

Sure, stop consuming alcohol, it's a depressant.
Try drinking tea, I mean good quality Assam, Darjeeling, or Dimbula. It will lift your spirits and clean your body out. Cheers!

Mostly alcohol abuse is to calm down and down sb from stress, and it brings about addiction. I think before bad happenings occur, you should visit a clinical psychologist and speak up about your problem.
