My wife and I actually did this but it was only a week in between and it was so much nicer to just relax get married spend time with family and friends at the reception. We did go spend our wedding night at a beautiful bed and breakfast which was great. This was somehting that let us know that it was official and all and well our room had a two person jacuzzi and everything and I had my brother deliver two bottles of pink sparkling wine to the B&B a nice early morning romp in the jacuzzi tub and some sparkling wine and a couple hours sleep.. Then of course the brkfst was to die for quiche with a creamcheese and pastry crust, frsh squeezed OJ, coffee, toast and biscuits with fresh preserves a poached pear in white wine.

Needless to say it was very memorable this was back in 1999. I would recommend you do something nice for your wedding night trust me it makes everything feel like it clicks into place.

God Bless and Congratulations may your day and your life with each other be blessed by the hand of God.

We are doing the same thing. We are leaving a week later. That way we aren't rushed and worn out. Most people I've talked to said they were exhausted when they left for the honeymoon right after the wedding. We did get a nice hotel room for the night after the wedding.

Most people don't leave for the honeymoon straight after the wedding. It's always best to give yourself a few weeks to settle in a little bit at first.

I got married in July '05 - leaving for our honeymoon next week (although this is an extreme case!)

My husband and I waited about 1 1/2 weeks after our wedding to go on our honeymoon. There is nothing wrong with it. I think to many people get caught up in the traditions instead of making up their own minds. Have a great time! Congrats!

My husband and I delayed our honeymoon 2 weeks. We had so many family and friends come from out of town, that we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible before they had to leave. We also had tons of after-wedding stuff to do, like return the tuxedo's. A lot of people postpone their honeymoon a few days to a few weeks.

We did an identical factor and it replaced into between the final desicions we made. It gave us time to delight in the travelers that got here in from out of city and unwind after an rather busy week. Our wedding ceremony replaced into in July, and had to bypass some place tropical, yet not while it replaced into going to be one hundred+ ranges. We waited until eventually here January, which gave us a lot of time to maintain further funds for our holiday, plus, because of the fact it replaced into off top and we booked early, we stored a ton of money.

Sure, it happens all the time. I know many people who left for their honeymoon weeks, and sometimes months, after the actual wedding.

I got married on a Saturday and didn't leave for my honeymoon until the following Tuesday. We needed that Sunday and Monday to return tux rentals, and get everything in order so that we can leave and not worry about anything. So yeah, it makes sense to me.

Absolutely, it's your honeynoon - you get to pick when you go! We're also planning on waiting a bit to get things sorted out (writing thank you notes, clean up, etc) after the wedding so that we can relax on the trip - rather than worrying about things.

My honeymoon was delayed 8 weeks because I had to study for an exam, so it is not as uncommon as you think!

Whenever you go it will be special, enjoy!
