im not exactly a pro when it comes to eating healthy either. i KNO that eating healthy will help me with my goal but i just cant do it. im trying my best not to eat all the junk im addicted to eating but its hard for me. i kno that i can eat what i want but in small portions. but i have a fast metabolism and i get hungry very often and i eat multiple times a day. i have a phobia of gaining weight and eating too much yet i do it anyway.

Sorry hon, but there is no way to be healthy AND skinny. "Skinny" is a sign of poor health. I know that you don't want to talk to your mom, but you SHOULD talk to a knowledgeable adult about your concerns. My recommendation would be to talk to one of your school counselors about the possibility of referring you to a nutritionist. A nutritionist will be able to help you set up a healthy diet (of foods that you WILL eat) to make sure that you have all of the energy and vitamins that you need to grow into a healthy adult. You are at a time in your life when your body will be going through a lot of changes, and it will take time to become accustomed to the way your adult body looks. You aren't going to be a little girl forever, and gaining some weight is a necessary part of becoming a woman with a womanly shape. We've all been through this... it will be okay!

Ok, I'm recovering as well and I'm a healthy 5'4, 105. I have gained a lot during my recovery but that's to be expected and it's healthy. I am trying to gain 5 more. Here is what my recovery team at my clinic has told me to do, and it's helped me to be at a thin, healthy weight:
1) Eat small meals 5-6 times a day. They shouldn't be more than 300 calories each. They can be a salad, oatmeal, chicken breast, vegetables, tuna salad, etc.
2) Eat breakfast. Very important! I like whole wheat toast with peanut butter and a banana.
3) No sugary drinks. This includes juice and soda. Drink diet, water, and take a multi-vitamin
4) Drink smoothies. They're filling and low-cal (if made correctly) and can help you get at least 2 servings of fruit in one glass. I like to have one after I work out in the evenings.
5) Snack healthy. Pretty much say good-bye to chips and cookies, unless you get the 100-calorie packs or the serving size packs. Have yogurt, granola bars, cottage cheese, almonds, and bananas and other fruit. You will learn to love it!
This is a good, healthy eating program for anyone. I've also found it IMMENSELY helpful to plan out each and every meal that day, so I can just eat it without having to think about what to eat and I know I'm getting the right calories. You will stay trim on an eating plan like this, and it's healthy. I've gotten so much better... thicker hair, not as cold anymore, etc.
Congrats on your recovery, too. I know it's not easy at all, but you're smart. I'm only 25 and I've already had 2 heart attacks and a stroke, so you're smart to take care of it before it goes to that. Also, get rid of your scale, seriously. Thats the first thing you'll learn in any treatment program.
AS far as working out, you really should be using weights. Just some hand weights from wal mart or something will help you to tone up by doing a few arm exercises every day. Toned muscles will make all the difference from looking healthy and toned from skinny and scrawny.
Good luck!!!

Hypnosis doctor that is what helped me with mine. I started being anorexic when I was 13 I weighed about 50 something pounds. I went all the way through school being anorexic. In high school I never weighed over 75 pounds. Now looking back I see myself as sick but not thin. I went to a Hypnosis Dr when I got out of High School. Now I'm 25 and not anorexic but don't weigh but 85 pounds. That is the most I have ever weighed. I have messed up my inside bad from it. I always think about it but the Hypnosis has helped me the most. I have had re laps but is normal. Email me if you need to talk or have more questions.

First let me tell you are not alone. but you are hurting yourself without even knowing. You are probably malnourished and dehydrated. Little amount of food will damage you physically and mentally. There are so many ways you can lose weight healthy. And for a matter a fact I think your weight is perfect. Hey and who told you Hollywood is about skinny skinny skinny. Do you know that most guys like a LITTLE EXTRA MEAT around a girl or what will they be hugging or grabbing? BONES!!!!!!!!!!! Sweety please be much smarter than this and get help from people who have been there. Good Luck.

Trying to do this by yourself isn't possible, no matter what your thinking. You really need to find a doctor or start with your school, someone you can talk with easily, a teacher, guidance or nurse and discuss your fears. Honestly, this is something you need help with. My daughter started going through this a few years ago, thank goodness I was able to find her help and she is able to discuss anything with me. There is so much to can create in different ways with food. I mostly eat vegetable, fish, chicken, and only fresh fruit, but these look like foods you will not eat. As I said start from foods you do, and plan your meals with someone who can help you.

You may not want to go to an adult, but you really need to. If you don't want to talk to your mom, then try your school counselor or a favorite teacher. Anorexia is about more than just eating. It is about control. You really need to talk to a therapist to help you resolve the underlying issues of your anorexia. The fact that your recognize it is a good start. Good luck.

um, you need serious help. i used to be anorexic and all i can tell you is it's a huge waste of time. too much time spent thinking about weight and food..it's ridiculous actually. it's a waste of your life.
if you're only 13 you need to go to someone...you can't even drive yet, never mind handle anorexia on your own....
