HOPE THIS HELPS The line in my mind means that if you look at a candle, and you know that is fire, then there must of been someone who taught you it was fire.
The idea is that you can only know what you are taught. The idea of the teacher and the student in the universe that thers is always someone with more knowledge that came before you. Oma is implying that the ascended ancients "raised" earth and the galaxy and have been "cooking meals" for them to survive since their begining

its some thing related to politics i think."If you immediately know the candlelight is fire",means - if u find or sense somethingz fishy, "then the meal was cooked a long time ago",means u can expect somethingz is gonna happen good or bad.
I think....

My interpretation would be that if you can look at something like a candle flame and realize the potential you've got there for creating something bigger-----a fire powerful enough to cook a meal with, then you've got the ability to maximize your resources and accomplish big things, even with small beginnings.
I think the message is positive here.

it is an analogy of being late for something.. say a wife cooked a candle light dinner but husband never came home she fell asleep candle burned house down he comes home sees the fire...and there you have: " if you immediately know the candle light is fire, then the meal was coked a long time ago"

Don't know, maybe...that the food sucked, so it should be clear that it was cooked long ago, just like it's clear that the candlelight is fire. humm...but that doesn't sound like it's really the right answer. where did that quote come from?

If you can only see the flame of the candle as fire, and miss seeing the romance of it, then you have no passion, (the food is cold (like your passion) because it was cooked a long time ago)
Sounds like something my grandma would have said GRHS

Ah that old chestnut, instead of reading the original chinese proverb as translated from mandarin into french via hebrew I would heartily recommend the mandarin by way of sanscrit via romanian. It just gives that extra pow to the punchline, has me in bits just thinking about it. Just goes to show the old ones are the best....

If you look at a candle and see fire, you have lost your view of the positive side of life.
(Sorry to be so cynical)
