Any low fat diet (there are several available, but only by prescription, or you can feed boiled rice and chicken.)

Pancreatitis is usually a very temporary affliction, lasting at most a few weeks if treated correctly. It's typically caused by ingesting foreign material (human food, or something undigestible like plastic.)

If your dog is vomiting continually, you may need an anti-emetic from your vet.

Al I = Has not idea what she's talking about. Wild pack animals don't always immediately eat their prey, they also scavenge rotten carcasses, and return to eat the rest of prey animals the killed the day before, or 2 days before. Anyway, is the pancreatitis acute or chronic? Is it caused by gallstones? If it's acute I'd wait until it passes. If it's chronic and gallstones have been ruled out, I'd say switch but it's up to you. Pancreas = Produces insulin. Insulin = regulates amount of sugar in the blood. Commercial dog foods = full of grain (corn, rice, barely) or starches (sweet potato) and these substances break down into SUGAR. Digesting dog food full of grains and starches is putting more of a strain on the pancreas. But the damage may have already been done. It's all up to you, if the dog is dying, why not, can't make it worse. Also raw pork is just fine, raw wild pork or bear aren't.

Absolutely no human food treats for dogs with pancreatitis. You'll need to read the ingredient lists and percentage charts available on any foods you consider. Your vet should be able to point you in the direction of recommended foods. Good luck-sorry you and your dog are having to live with this.

i would definitely check with your vet, it is important that they get the correct nutrients to keep their other organ systems functioning properly. they might recommend rice, but definitely check first.
