59 yr old divorced male who needs some help understanding signs. On a week trip with a mixed group in same age range, talked with many ladies. Two rubbed my shoulder or upper arm while talking, what does this mean? Do they want to continue getting better acquainted or is it just a friendly response?

Believe it or not, women don't like being alone any more than men do. In this age group, single women outnumber single men. This makes you a valuable commodity.
Yes, these women are trying to warm up to you in the only way they know how. They are from a generation where it was not proper for the ladies to ask a man for a date.
It is time for you to start conducting interviews. The next time this happens, you should engage one of the ladies in conversation.If you find you are interested in her, move away from the group and get to know each other a little better. If this goes well, ask her if she would like to see you sometime apart from the group.
Be sure that your invitation does not threaten her security. Unless she already knows you well enough to trust you, it is best to meet publicly or double date with a couple that you are both comfortable with. These women can often feel extremely vulnerable and you need to respect this and not put her on the spot.

....these are absolutely friendly close gestures my friend...and absolutely they wanna get to know you!......Dude?...you're 59 years old...and you haven't figured out the signs of a woman's gestures of affection yet? I'm 50 my friend....and I at least know what "a come on" looks like reasonably. These women really liked you dude....so go out and get busy here partner. What kind of signs do you really need to see for yourself otherwise? Nobody has a complete road map about anyone understandably...but these we're women that absolutely wanted to intrigue you partner. Go and socialize your self. Touching your shoulder does not mean getting better and deeper acquintance. If you want a long companionship then why not call her after the trip or the party and ask about if she did enjoy or blah blah. However, be careful they might not free. Deal with those who are free.
