all semi trucks are in the way on any highway
they need their own road for semis only always switching lanes going to slow and slowing everyone else up, sling trash behind their truck on the high way and you can never really see around them , whether to pass they are a aggravating, annoying item on the road. someone needs to understand you can ship other ways railroad planes or build a transit system for getting products to other places maybe underground the semi just need to get out of the way i had one even sling a rock and burst my windshield and scratch my paint on my car they are a nusiance

There are inconsiderate drivers in all vehicles!
As for trucks, trucks take a lot longer to get going, and they take a lot longer to stop. Increase the weight and speed of the truck and those distances are multiplied. Many trucks are governed, meaning they cannot go faster than a certain speed. Depending on the weight of the freight and the upgrade or downgrade of the road, the speed that the vehicle travels can change drastically in a short period of time. Truckers can tell who is carrying a heavy load, and if they are lighter they will try to get ahead of that vehicle. Give us a little patience and we will be out of the way shortly.
As for 'lord taylor's' comments to say that all trucks are always in the way, or a nuisance, or annoying... keep in mind that everything you have in your life has come to you because of a trucker. Yes, things are shipped by rail, and sea, and by air... but are you going to drive to your nearest rail depot or port to buy your groceries, or clothes, or anything for that matter??? Be thankful that we are doing the stressful job that we are so that you can have the things you want. Without us you'd be naked, hungry, and living in a cave, and most certainly be walking ! As for the stone chips, etc... don't tailgate... you'll notice a big difference.

Why do cars do the same thing? At least the trucks have the excuse of not being able to get up to a higher speed quickly. Show me a car that can't do 60 to 65 in less than 10 seconds.

Driving a truck is much different from driving a car. Put your lawn mower engine into your mustang and try to pass somebody going 60. You'll get an approximate idea then.

Try to respect other drivers on the road, and your driving will be much more enjoyable

many trucks have their speed regulated, meaning they cannot go any faster. If one truck can pass another truck they are going to pass it, you four wheelers do the same thing.
Drivers have appointed load and unload times they have to meet, much the same as punching a time clock for you anti-truck people.
They have log books they have to follow, meaning tolls, driving time and bearth time all much match up.
Show a little patience and courtesy on the road and you will recieve the same from these drivers, they are pulling 60,000 gross if not more, they dont go O to 60 in 15 seconds and they do not stop on a dime.

Time is money, especially to a truck driver. This is their job, they need to get where the're going, and make the best possible time. They have as much right to pass other vehicles as anyone else.

Because he want's to go 61, and it would take way too much energy to acelerate all the several tons of products you like to buy to 80mph (just for one moment) so they can pass and get out of your all important way.
