Ive been talking to a fella online chit chatting back and forth for somewhere around 6 months. he djs for an online radio station and Ive listened to his show, sent in requests, and basically just joked back and forth with each other. well, in the past month we've been chatting more and more, and now it seems that we've fallen in love! Here is the problem. He lives 4000 miles away, and he is considerably older than me, 17 years to be exact. we've exchanged phone numbers, and he actually uses it! (the phone I mean) lol. by the way...Im completely of legal age, Im 27. can it work? I mean, as far as I can tell, his feelings are genuine, meaning he calls often...several times a day...sometimes just to say he loves me =). Ive really got it bad for this guy, and I think I want a real future with him....can it work?

I have seen him...webcams are marvelous things. and Im fully aware that he is no "knight in shining armor" lol he is just a regular guy, but extremely warm, caring, witty, intelligent, articulate, but he still trips over his words lol. it isnt as though Im in a fantasy where I think he is George Clooney w/ a British accent. anyway...he is an extremely great guy!

p.s. Ive also had the opportunity to talk to other girls who have actually met with him, and they say he is a great guy too, they couldnt handle the distance issue.

I'm 27 and the only thing I can tell you is that if you haven't met him, why even go there yet?

If you are planning to make the move to where he is at, go for it, or if he is going to come to you, go for it.

But if all you have done is chat online and on the phone, you don't have much of anything.

DJs are friendly with a lot of their people.

Do you know how many promoters and DJs and publicists tell me they love me? The word "love" is normal in the industry.

I also say:

"Hey, love, thanks for everything, love ya!"

You might not click in person.

Let's be realistic Randella, you're in love with the idea of being in love, and your lover is this fantasy person 4000 miles away, whom you have no idea what he looks like nor whether he's the knight in shining armor you perceive him to be.

Sure, the ages don't matter but there's lots more that does matter and you can't get around them. If the boy don't or can't visit you, then you should consider finding a partner close enough to meet face to face.

Good Luck

You haven't met him in person yet, he could be totally different than you think/expect, nowadays it's hard enough to know and trust someone we live with let alone someone we haven't even met.
Perhaps you should wait a little before you start making plans about a future with this guy.

As for the age difference, we all have different ideas and expectations, if a couple is happy with the age gap betweem them, then that's all that matters.

I know you have strong feelings for this guy but I actually know three couples with more than a decade's age difference, my parents for one, are 17 years apart. I don't think it's a good idea to spend your life with a partner that much older than you because you will grow up too quickly. When you could still enjoy your youth, he would be in his 50s. You may not think it's a big deal but when he's old and requires your care, you'll think differently. I know that my mother could not relate to my father's stagnant routines of resting at home so much and ended up stuck in his rut. You may regret to having spent your life faster than you could have.

do you think it can work?

your talking about a DJ someone who is slightly famous who may just use you (it's a possibility)

away from that opinion..

sure, ask him to come see you, meet in a public place so he doesn't try to act a fool. then ask yourself is a 44yr old going to provide everything i need as a 27yr old female?

but i say go for it love comes in different shapes and forms.

my best wishes to you two.

sure it can work but it will be a big comittment, also as yall get more serious some one will have to move, but i dont think you can be in love with someone that you have never met, but you can be falling for him, also be careful when you do meet him.
