I know when they get older the males have a blue cere and the females a brownish cere. My daughter wants a female girl and i want a male blue.

you can't tell until they are mature. their eyes get white circles around them when they are mature. then, you're right, the males have bright blue ceres

You can't when they are babies. You can when they come out of the nest - or a few weeks thereafter. The cere - or that fleshy p[art where the nostrils are - will appear blue on males and pink on females. As they age, the blue will be darker blue and the pink will look almost brown.

It's every hard to tell until they are about close to a year old... but males usually have a colored place where their nostrils are called "ceres", usually (blue ot some other color) and females have beige or white, where their nostrils are. The link below will help you out....

The first thought that went through my head was to say: Just spread their little legs apart and then you'll know.But I wont say that.
