No, I asked in the opticians in Boots and they said that it doesn't cover glasses nor the test.

The exemption certificate alone will not entitle you to costs related to opticians. This is from the website below:
Maternity Exemption Certificates (Matex):
Pregnant women and those who have had a baby in the last 12 months get free:
NHS prescriptions
NHS dental treatment for women who are pregnant when accepted for the course of treatment
NHS dental treatment for any course of treatment for women who have borne child within twelve months before treatment. If, however, you're on a low income, you may qualify for help; visit the second website below for guidance.

FYI: you could get a Free pair of glasses and eye exam though the local Lions.....I think they have a website If not call information for one near you!

No unfortunately, only rescriptions and dentist. You may get the eye test, I'm not sure but certainly no glasses.

sadly enuf no. i tried that one! but if ur on benefits or a low income u can either get free ones or help towards the cost of 'em.
if ur in d UK, i suggest u go tescos n get ur eyes done, its all much cheaper there!

should think so, i get working tax credit of 2.50 per week but i got free eye test and new glasses as well as dental and prescriptions free.
