I have orthodox Jewish friends who believe in evolution, and Muslim friends who do too, although they're pretty liberal/secular. In both religions, scriptures are prescriptive but it's not always clear exactly how to put the scriptures into practice or what their meaning would be for modern believers. Rabbis or imams interpret the scriptures for ordinary believers, and would have varying interpretations on certain issues. So yes, certain religious authorities would say it's fine to believe in evolution.

(not sure if I count since I'm Jewish-Christian, but my argument is that the important part of the creation story is that God made the world. I think that it doesn't matter to my belief exactly HOW he did it: if he created the laws of physics to make the world, that's pretty cool too. I think of the creation story as potentially a myth, since humans would not have the capacity to comprehend God's actual methods. Evolution seems to be the best theory for the evidence at present, although it's not perfect - a better theory might be devised in future)

I'm not sure about Judaism. Islam believes that everything in the Universe was created by ALLAH. Therefore Evolution is non existent in Islam.
