A healthy balanced diet and regular exercise are the only ways to lose any kind of excess fat. However, in your exercise routine, you should aim to do exercises that target the oblique and abdominal muscles. You can find more information about these muscles on the internet, as well as some good advice on how they can be targeted properly.

Cardio exercise.
Well-balance healthy diet.
Targeted exercise:

Side Twist
On your left side place you elbow on the floor directly under your shoulder. Extend the legs out and place your right foot infront of you left foot on the floor. Place your right hand by your right ear. Inhale as you lift your body up so you are supported by your feet and elbow. Exhale and pull the belly button in towards the spine as you twist your right elbow towards the floor in front of you. Inhale and untwist so you elbow is not pointing toward the ceiling. That is one rep - try to do 12-15 for each side. If that position is too hard you can keep your left knee of the floor for more support.
