Did you know that in the U.S., more cats are intentionally killed than die of any other cause.
You can help solve the crisis of pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering your pets. Did you know that one female dog and her offspring can give birth to 67,000 puppies. In seven years, one cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens.

Virtually every feral cat that enters a shelter or animal control facility is killed. You may view this petition for more information on this subject at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/725659062?z00m=9419658

Great answers!! Thank you for thinking about your pets.
If you have not spayed/neutered your pet, why not? There are many advantages to spaying/neutering your pet. Finding a good FOREVER home for the kittens is hard.

The animal shelters and rescue groups are going to be swarming with homeless cats and kittens real soon.

i unfortunately only managed to fix my boy and will spay my girl when she has had her litter and it can safely be done. she was pregnant before she could be done and legal reasons she has to have the kittens first. i don't live in the usa. both will be done. i have good homes for her kittens where they will also be fixed. it makes them better pets. i did use to breed cats for a living but as we have such an over population of them i decided to stop. no healthy cat/kitten should be put down whether feral/stray etc. we have a policy where they can be rehomed on a farm after being fixed kittens tend to be socialised into becoming human friendly by foster parents which is what i do now and then they are rehomed. the people rehoming kittens are given a voucher to get that kitten fixed.

All 12 of my cats and my 4 dogs are spayed or neutered. I have the cats done as soon as they are old enough. Prevents lots of problems including unwanted pregnancies.

I have three small dogs and two cats and they are all spayed and neutered. If you are a responsible pet owner then your animals will be fixed. Too many homeless animals now...no need to create more.

i got my cat thats 2 years old fixed last year. I'm happy that i did it cause she is a very happy cat. I do at times wish i had gotten kittens from her though cause they would be so cute. I would of found them all good homes and keep one even. But it's to late now since she's fixed. LOL

i have three exclusively indoor cats, two are neutered, the other is in line to be spayed as soon as i can afford it. but by keeping her inside with two altered males, i prevent her from getting pregnant.

I wont adopt unless they are spayed or neutered. But this doesn't seem like a question.
