They seem to think animals were put here to be beasts of burden rather than accepting that we have just been fortunate enough to have evolved to the point we are able to use them as such.

I'm sure that most of us atheists will put greater value on human lives as well.

The loss of a family pet is sad, the loss of a loved one is tragic.

However, christians have the arrogance to take this much further by giving themselves a soul that they claim is beyond animals.

It seems to me quite strange.

To tell you the truth the only religion that considers animals of any kind at the level of humanity is Hinduism, since humans can be re-incarnated into the animals around us. So all other religions do not consider the animal as equals, not only Christianity, which by the way carried on this tradition from the Jewish.
Have a great day and God bless, thanks for the opportunity to spread the truth.

Worth less than humans? Yes. But not worthless. We are in charge of animals, we have dominion over them. Having that also includes responsibility, and if we don't take care of them, they die.

If we would make good choices regarding animals this would please God greatly, and we'd be blessed by Him. Having our animals neutered, taking care of our forests and coastlines, picking up our trash so they don't get it and die from poisons ... all these things are what we can do, and it is our responsibility to do so.

But I would never put an animal over a human, when rating value.

Properly understood, nothing in God's kingdom was to die--even plants. After God created the planet, only food yeilded by plants were given. After the entrance of sin, God gave the herbs (plants) Then, because of food shortages after the flood God gave every thing that moves for food.

This is all provisional but in the Kingdom restored, nothing will die as Eden is restored. The plan to restore earth is described in an online publication that reveals a secret bible code: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

To answer your question, my wife and I grieve over all innocent death; perhaps that is why we are vegetarians.

Blessings and AGAPE love, One-Way

definite they do. I went for a walk interior the park with my puppy goat Gary and he talked about what each and each of the teenage goats lately could call a 'tremendous in fantastic condition goat'. She became really extraordinarily if I do say so myself. anyhow, at the same time as Gary talked about her he were given all shy and he began blushing sooo a lot his complete face went pink and that i even with the reality that there became some thing incorrect with him!! So I rushed him to medical institution and they only called me loopy for taking a goat to a medical institution no longer a vet.

Yes, of course they are.

God put the animals on the Earth to serve man.

Worth less? Yes, God gave us animals to use for our survival.

Worthless? No, they are part of God's creation which should be cherished and cared for.

It doesn't matter if you are a Christian or not. Each living thing is worth something to someone or something. We, as humans, may not like things like cockroaches or mosquitoes because they creep us out or harm us and they probably aren't too fond of humans because we are always trying to come of ways to kill them. You have to simplify to get it, I think and not make such a big deal out of it.
