When the plane landed we had to wait and wait to get off. I thought something funny was going on but waited patiently with the rest of the sardine bunch [ us commoners who sit packed like sardines in a can ]. Anyway people started moving and as we reached the fancy seats i noticed the people there were still sitting, i found that strange because they are usually the first one's out. Now a couple of days later i read that one of the passengers died as soon as we were in the air and now i understand why those passengers had to sit there while we were getting out. Just wondering if they are all going to get free flights for having to spend the whole trip with a dead person. Shame poor person, feel so sorry for the relatives.

Thats just horrible, imagine being in business or first class and having to sit near a corpse, i'm off to New Zealand again this year - imagine someone carking it an hour into a 13hr flight - there'd be flies by the end of it - . I bet they didn't do the 'thank you for flying with BA - we hope you enjoyed your flight' bit at the end.

I'd be after some form of freebie!

I think I heard it on the news the other day..must have been pretty darn awful, especially for the distraught daughter who sat next to the dead old woman. One of the other passengers apparently informed the crew that the old lady did not seem well, little did he know that she was already dead.

I doubt that they will get free flights, after all the poor lady had only died a few minutes before, so there was no disturbance because of the way she looked or, even more grisly thought, smelled. It is quite spooky though - and definitely a totally shocking experience for the family. This was probably the first 1st class flight in the woman's life - and she never got a chance to enjoy it. :o(

Whoa!! Now that's a flight to remember. I can think of better things. But what a
shock for the family or friends that would be waiting for the person. How sad.

I can't follow the logic in your story, why would they keep people in their 'fancy seats' just because of a stiff? As I understand it the woman was in economy when she died and they moved her up to First. Shame she couldn't appreciate the upgrade :-)

heard about this on the news, the person who had the stiff sat in the seat next to him for the majority of the flight is not receiving a penny of compensation! pretty harsh considering what it costs to fly 1st or business class.

may be they were mourners and the body was already dead before it came on the plane you know how expensive it is to fly a coffin out. some real skinflints about.

I still don't buy it. I've only heard this story on the web, never in the news.
