A mediator is one who interposes between two parties at variance to reconcile them; an intercessor; an intermediary agent, or go-between. In the Scriptures the term is applied to Moses and Jesus, the mediators respectively of the Law covenant and the new covenant. Ga 3:19; 1Ti 2:5.

1 Timothy 2:5, 6 is not using “mediator” in the broad sense common in many languages. It is not saying that Jesus is a mediator between God and all mankind. Rather, it refers to Christ as legal Mediator of the new covenant, this being the restricted way in which the Bible uses the term. Jesus is also a corresponding ransom for all in that covenant, both Jews and Gentiles, who will receive immortal life in heaven. The apostle John referred to these at 1 John 2:2. But he indicated that others too will receive the benefit of Christ’s sacrifice: “He is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s.”

It is amazing that trinity believers think that Jesus is the mediator between himself and mankind. Does that make sense? If he is the mediator BETWEEN God and man, how could he BE God?

Yes, that is the correct definition of "mediator". The sin of Adam and Eve damaged the relationship between God and mankind. Jesus, by His death on the cross, reconciled us with God. The work of mediation was therefore once and for all time completed on the cross. Many Christians don't understand this concept, and confuse mediation with intercession, which simply means praying on behalf of others, or with ministry, which means that God uses men to accomplish His purposes.

"Mediator" in a million Tim 2:5-6 isn't used in the experience of a spokesman. It refers back to the mediation (bringing approximately) of the hot Covenant, which replaced into uniquely the paintings of Christ. it is the reason verse 6 refers to his sacrifical loss of life, upon which the covenant rests. A valuable assessment verse for it is Heb 9:15, the place Christ is extremely defined as "the mediator of a clean covenant".

Personally, I don't feel that Jesus is the mediator between God and man. I believe the story of Jesus was fabricated to bring about a new controlling religion. This doesn't mean Jesus didn't exist, just that the story of his life was changed to fit the story line needed. What need does humanity have for a savior if they don't believe they are separated from God?

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and became sinful, they were no longer in harmony with God's holiness and it literally drove a wedge between them and God. This sinfulness was then passed to all their offspring (because of the principal of like producing like) and so all of us have become separated from God's favor. When Jesus remained faithful and perfect throughout his human life and willingly died so we could be reconsiled to God, he formed a bridge which all of us are able to cross to again be on God's side. He also spoke to us for God (he is called "the word") so that we might know what God's thoughts are and bring our lives into a more harmonious state with his perfect will. Once the full value of Jesus' sacrifice has been applied to us, we will be able to really see a difference in our lives.

Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and Man. A mediator is someone who has something in common between both parties. Jesus Christ is fully hiuman and fully divine. Jesus can reconcile us with God because He is Man and He is God.

Because mankind has fallen into sin, everyone is born with a nature to sin. Ever seen a baby who won't share his or her toy? Greed. God can have no part of sin. Therefore, without receiving forgiveness and redemption of our sins, there is no way we can be with God on the day of judgement, much less know Him at all. Prior to Christ, people had to make atonements for their sins by sacrificing "unblemished" animals. Jesus Christ was the final sacrifice. He shed His blood in order to redeem mankind of our sins. Through faith in Him, we receive salvation. He is our attorney, our mediater between God and us. Without Christ, we can't have a personal relationship with God.

Heb 9:14,15 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance. Jesus becomes our Mediator by shedding His blood on the cross to give us a clean conscience before God to serve Him and to qualify us for our eternal inheritance.

Rom 5:6
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Jesus was here in a human form so He knows how it is like here. He is the perfect Mediator in God's courtroom.
