Some eczema's are a symptom of a leaky gut, which is why certain foods can trigger a break out.

Also most commercial detergents, shampoos and soaps etc exacerbate the problem.

Try using ecover or natural alternatives for the above products.

We have used probiotics for eczema, with superb results.

Start with one a day, then after 2 weeks if no major improvement up the dosage to 2-3. Once you have the skin back to normal, take a maintenance dosage of one tablet a day

The best probiotic we found was primadophilus reuteri or bifidus.

Try and go as organic as possible in what you eat and use on you skin, and always wash new clothing, that has been our recent culprit.

Organic milk has about 68% more omega 3 - omega 3 from fish, flaxseed can also help with eczema.

Good luck!

I use desonide cream or elica which was prescribed by my son's pediatrician. But it would still be better to consult with your pedia. or a dermatologist.
Do not rely solely on creams, your son's skin condition can also be triggered by a variety of factors (like milk allergy), etc. You doctor can best help you on his condition.
Aside from the cream, my son also has a specially formulated soap, skin lotion and powdered milk.

you absoulutly have to ask your doctor, you cannot apply steroidal creme to a 1 year olds face without a consultation you could mess with his endochrin system.
Personally none of that stuff worked on mine and I had it for 3 years it only faded when i started washing my face with Dial soap in a hot lather then before I go to sleep I crush Benadryl pills and spread them on the rash,it seems to kill the allergy for me.

Low potency steroid cream with some anti itching lotion such as calamine. As child grows older this problem becomes less severe.

How did you diagnose Eczema?? you need a pediatrician for this, there are similar conditions that your son could suffer from, and requiring different treatment (psoriasis).

Do not self-medicate - go to a doc.

My son suffered terribly with eczema, I used Aveeno moisturising cream & bath oil, it is great, theres no nasty steriods in it, and its completely natural products for oatmeal, etc, you can get it on prescription or over the counter at your local chemist.

Have you ever heard of Freederm HC? It is incredible! It's very mild and safe for infants. (Keep out of eyes & follow included instructions!)

It is like applying a lotion. I used it very sparingly with wonderful results. I highly recommend it! You can read more on their website. I'll list it as my source.

Hope it clears up! =)
