I used an online service to file my Federal and two state tax returns (I moved halfway through the year). I know on the federal, you have to claim your state return, but I thought that on the state, you were supposed to claim any federal return you got last year, but it never asked me for it. Should I be worried?

No. Your federal refund isn't taxable anywhere, so a refund doesn't have to be claimed. On your federal, you only list your state refund if you itemized the year before and deducted state income taxes.

First of all it is not a return it is a refund. Please remember that. Second the only time you would have to claim the federal refund on a state return is if and when the state allows you a deduction for the federal tax on your state return. Since that is in violation of the tax code, the answer is NO you do not.

No.

You do not show a Federal refund on your state return. Never - ever.

You do show a State refund on your Federal Return, but only if you received an "economic" benefit on your Federal return in the prior year. If you did not
itemize your state and local taxes last year, and you received a state refund
this year, that state refund is nontaxable for Federal purposes.

the other answers you received are correct, but the nature of your question concerns me. you really should go to a professional--even hr block or jackson hewitt, where you can talk to and learn from a real human. your basic knowledge of taxes is very low and i'm guessing that you have made mistakes or ommissions on your returns.
