I am trying to find lakes or fishing spots close to where I live so I can go fishing

i would try chamber of commerce,if you have a walmart ask someone in the sporting dept. you will need to buy a fishing license so while your doing that ask the person who is helping you with the license,fish and game department

check with local conservation dept. or their website they usually have detailed maps of all public lands in the state

It's pretty hard to give directions if nobody knows where you are - town, state, or even country

or go to your state Dept. of Fish and Wildlife (or whatever they call it) and see what's nearby.
