"Maundy Thursday" is a celebration to remember the Last Supper and Jesus' action of washing his disciple's feet. The word "maundy" comes from Latin for "Commandment" and refers to the commandments that Jesus gave his disciples during that meal. The first being the Great Commandments to love God and to love their neighor as themselves. The other being the commandment to take communion in rememberance of him.

Maundy Thursday is normally celebrated with a communion service. Some church will also recreate the act of washing feet by having each memember washing the feet of another.
