2- "Prayer": "Five times a day"... "Fridays"... The "Salat":
3- "Give alms", "Zakat"
4- "Fasting", "Sawm", on the month of "Ramadan"
5- "Pilgrimage to Mecca"
alms are given as charity to benefit the poor

To answer your question, yes. Islam is an evil and violent religion founded by an evil and violent man, carried on by the evil and violent who have deceived many who otherwise would not be so. No student of history can honestly deny the horrible acts of violence Muhammad and his followers down through the ages have perpetrated on Jews and Christians. Long before the crusades (Jerusalem surrendered to Moslem forces in 638 AD), Muhammad and those who came after him made war on the non-Islamic nations around the Mediterranean, and slaughtered many Jews native to Israel (or Canaan or Palestine, if you prefer)…. From Mohammed through the end of the Ottoman Empire, Islam has been a violent faith that has been used to justify war. Unlike Christianity and Judaism, neither of which advocate the "convert or die" process of Islam, had to be grossly distorted in order to be used by apostates to commit acts of unjustified war.
What do you all think of all this?

Let us give some examples from the holy Quran.
"Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them." (4:34)
Women's testimony is equal to half that of a man:
"Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her." (2:282)
The burqa is the head-to-toe Islamic robe. Several protesters wore long robes and veils exposing only their eyes, known as a niqab.

There are many educated Fools around and probably this guy, Jeff Jones, is one of the greatest Fools I have come across. This idiot, Jeff Jones, probably has not studied History, Islam or the Life of the Prophet Muhammad. Anyone who studies Islam and the Life of the Prophet Muhammad, Without, I stress, WITHOUT any Prejudice, will realise that Islam and the founder of Islam, is not what these Craps are making out or claiming to be. If your son or daughter steals, is it proper to say that they are probably following you, their parents. So please stop blaming Islam and the Prophet for Offences committed by a few Muslims. It certainly is Not Logical and Absolutely Unacceptable.

If you look at the three major religions, Judaism Christianity and Islam, which the latter two came from Judaism, they all claim the same God, by many different names. Now keeping this in mind look at the statement of ' A house divided against itself can not stand' , which is a statement of common sense, if nothing else. This statement applied to these three, it's quite apparent that all three have become evil. For they work against each other under the roof of what they call the same God.
I am a Christian man myself but I claim no religion for I have found them all to be wrong and false in their teachings. I keep it simple. I believe and follow in the ways of Jesus Christ and this will lead you to God. That's why he came not to start churches to get rich nor to do holy wars or get stuck in dogma centuries old! If my words offend you just remember the Truth Is A Double Edged Sword! Perhaps this is your wake up call! I am not here to be nice to you, I am here to tell the truth so that perhaps you will see the lie in which you live and seek the truth!

your word are evil !! that's unfair !!
how come you called Islam an evil religion since you get your knowledge from media !
if you go deeply to know real Islam you'll find the God tells us that if someone kill a one person just like he kills all humans ... through the history Muslims spread the science , knowledge , manners , love and justice to alot of countries like China , Spain , Africa ,Russia ,far east ...etc
Muslims can't do this GREAT Job with out " faith " , even people follow it immediately because it gave them the right meaning of life .
judging on 1.6 billion because of less than 1% that may they misunderstand something important in Islam , that is not fair also .
as i can judge you as what happening by murdering and stealing citizens in Iraq, PALESTINE and many countries because of your people .
if that's the meaning of evil , thank you for calling me an evil .

I'm a Muslim and I am not evil. Like any child of Adham (PBUH), I have the ability to be evil, but I'm not. I don't agree with how some Muslims dispaly their disagreement with certain things in their countries, but we are all human. I also don't agree with the perceived notion that Muslims should just accept what is said and done against Islam because of so-called free speech.

weren't Catholics evil in the past. By the way Islam and Catholisism have a lot of common aspects: attitude towards abortion and women. There might be other things that i forgot to mention, but to claim that Muslims are evil is unfair.

Have to say I agree with Jeff. I don't see any Christians strapping bombs to their women and children, sending them out to murder innocent people as well as themselves. I also don't see Christians capturing those who don't agree with them and chopping off their heads. Nor do I see Christians plotting to fly planes into anyone's buildings, blow up anyone's bridges, drag anyone's burning body from a roadside bomb, laughing and carrying on, poking the charred body with a stick, and hanging it from a bridge for the world to see. So . . .no, I don't believe Islam is a "wonderful, peace loving" religion. In fact, I believe, based on my own observations that it's the polar opposite of Christianity.

No Islam is not evil. Whoever says Islam is evil is ignorant of what Islam is really about. They should try to make friends with Muslims in their community.

Religion is ridiculous and dangerous full-stop. That goes for Islam and Christianity in particular.
Half the problem is that religions cannot readily distinguish between what really is ridiculous and what makes sense on its own.... mostly because they decree that they are the only right and everyone else is evil or misguided.
There is nothing "great" about any of them.
