yes absolutly , this is what it is all about , and is the bricks and mortar to who you will become , also an excellent thing for your relationships if you branch out on your own , people who do this are more likely to have better relationships with all involved , basically because of the structual independence which make you strong , and your parents proud..

yes it does! i love having some distance from the family,we can talk on the phone every day, it just makes the visit that much more special when you haven't seen them for a while

Absolutely! While it may not seem desirable, this is a great way to learn more about yourself. When you are out of your norm, and away from close friends and family, you learn to become much more independent. I am glad I chose to go away for college, for this is the lesson I learned!

It's been scientifically proven. Kids who go to day care tend to be more independent and willing to make friends. (It didn't work for me until high school, but I was naturally shy as a kid.)

No, it makes us sad and miserable. Too much distance and the saying goes 'out of sight, out of mind' and the heart also forgets. These days there is too much of temptation.
